'Home Town' is a project video I have been working on for the last couple of months in my home, Darwin, Northern Territory. I grew up with Hockey Dad and Sticky Fingers throughout highschool, their music is an essence of my adolescence and i contribute this video to them and my younger self with much love and devotion. I decided to film a series of events I personally enjoy doing with my closest mates in a short music video for fun. This tropical slice of paradise has so much to offer if you know where to look. Darwin is known for its two-seasonal weather, the wet and dry season (aka hot and bloody hot) Since creating 'Home Town' it has allowed me to get to know my friends and myself more. Pushing personal boundaries by stepping out of my comfort zone has been my overall goal this year. Enabling myself to grow and understand more from life experiences. With the support from my mates seen in the video and my mother it was all possible. The film symbolises my personal ‘Awakening’ to represent a feeling of lightness and weightlessness lost in the motion of infinite time. Cinematography, Visual Effects and Props I have used to share my current feelings and various emotions, in regard to uncertainty about my future after school. The video consists of underwater shots that represent that deep emotion of drowning and the various shots representing sinking, floating, lost, broken, and scared for the unknown.
